Superstar recording artist and actor Bow Wow showed his support for the nation’s upcoming elections with a voter registration initiative, “Walk Across America.” Bow Wow made a stop at SC State University, Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008.
During his visit, Bow Wow took a walk from the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center to the student plaza, where he addressed students, encouraging them to vote and get involved with the political process. He discussed how the financial crises and gas shortage is impacting the South. “You got banks closing. Kids can’t get to school because they can’t fill the buses up,” he said. “It’s time for us to take action and do something about it.”
The “Walk Across America” initiative takes Bow Wow and other citizens to various locations, including colleges, universities and radio stations across the United States. His ultimate goal is to get enough young voters involved to make a difference in this year’s election.
Bow Wow is also working with “Declare Yourself” and “Black Youth Vote,” two non-partisan organizations that will be assisting with the registration efforts and helping to reinforce the importance of youth voter participation.
