Orangeburg, S.C. - SC State’s legislative liaison, Joyce Green has been named executive director to SC State’s Board of Trustees.
In addition to fulfilling her duties as legislative liaison, Green will also provide assistance to the Board of Trustees as they carry out their roles and responsibilities and serving as liaison between the board and SC State administration.
Green was previously employed with the University serving as the executive director of planning, analysis, policy and organizational development (PAPOD) and Executive Director for the Board of Trustees from 2004-2006.
Prior to coming to SC State, Green was the director of strategic planning and operations at the South Carolina Budget and Control Board. During her tenure at the Budget and Control Board, Green was responsible for operations and long range planning. She managed administrative operations, the Executive Institute, community and business relations. She was also responsible for the strategic planning and development of the operational policy.
Green was also a program manager at the Budget and Control Board where she served as the legislative liaison with the General Assembly. She provided members of the General Assembly information on issues that impacted the board.
Her previous work history also includes: vice president of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, deputy director of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, director of staff development and training, human resources and executive assistant with the South Carolina Department of Revenue, and director of staff development and training for the Internal Revenue Service.
Green received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Benedict College and has done post graduate work at The Citadel and the University of South Carolina.
