Mayor, City Council to Honor SC State Football Team Tuesday

ORANGEBURG, SC – Mayor Paul Miller and the Orangeburg City Council will recognize the 2008 South Carolina State football team Tuesday during the Council’s 7 p.m. regular meeting at the new City Council chambers on Middleton Street.

Bulldog head coach Buddy Pough, his staff and the members of the team will be presented proclamations recognizing SC State’s outstanding 2008 season which included a 10-3 overall record, the school’s first outright Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title since 1994, the team’s first Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoff appearance in 26 years and numerous other individual coach and player honors.

A short highlight film of the Bulldogs’ outstanding season will also be shown.
