SC State’s Division of Student Affairs to host fun for the entire family with 2009 Summer Camp

SC State Division of Student Affairs will host 2009 Summer Camp for the entire family, which will consist of various day to day learning activities. This summer, enjoy educational techniques, all while having fun in the sun on the campus of SC State. Summer camp will begin on Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

When asked why these camps were implemented this summer, Antonio Boyle, assistant vice president for Enrollment Management, replied “this initiative was implemented because SC State is overflowing with recreational facilities on our campus; this was a way that we could involve the SC State community as well as the Orangeburg community.”

The 2009 Summer Camp is designed to provide daily enrichment experiences. It is also designed to develop, enhance, and enrich the family through teaching, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and most importantly safe fun-filled activities.

The 2009 Summer Camp will provide activities for the following age groups. The youth group will range from 9-15 years old and young adults will range from 16-19 years old. Adults and mature adults are also invited to attend the evening activities.

The activities for the youth and young adults will include the following:
• basketball
• bowling
• cheerleading
• chess
• golf
• soccer
• swimming
• tennis
• creative writing expressions

The evening activities for adults and mature adults will include the following:

• bowling
• bridge
• chess
• line dancing
• mind-body fitness program

The 2009 Summer Camp time and services for youth and young adults will be from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., the weekly cost will consist of a fee of $160 and will provide meals breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. There will also be a service time from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. That weekly cost will consist of a fee of $100 and will provide lunch and a snack for the participant.
