T’ Anna Michelle Roberts is SC State University’s Miss Homecoming 2009.
“I am honored to have been chosen by the SC State football team. I represent what they represent, which is hard work ethic, dedication and high academic scholastics,” said Roberts.
A native of Atlanta, Ga, Roberts, is a sophomore, agribusiness major. She is the daughter of Michael Tyler Sr. and Thelma Roberts.
Influenced by her mother's compassion and endurance to help others, Roberts has devoted countless hours to her community. As a deputy fire marshal community volunteer for the City of East Point Fire Department, she assisted neighbors and other citizens with first aid, blood pressure monitoring, fire prevention and emergency escape plan training. In 2008, Roberts was awarded the Unsung Hero Award for being an outstanding volunteer and community service provider.
At SC State, she is a member of the Student Orientation Leadership (SOL) program. She has also played the saxophone for 11 years, and is a member of the “best band in the land,” SC State’s Marching 101 Band.
After graduating from SC State, Roberts plans to attend graduate school to pursue a degree in foreign language. Her future goals are to ‘dominate’ the international trading division.
Prior to attending SC State, Roberts was an active member of the following organizations: Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
As a determined and motivated person, Robert’s motto is “our greatest glory is not in ever falling but in rising every time we fall.”
