SC State University inducted 11 faculty and staff members into the Quarter Century Club on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at 1 p.m., as part of the Founders’ Day Weekend Celebration.
The Quarter Century Club is designed to recognize individuals who have dedicated 25 years of service to SC State University.
During the first formal observance of Founders’ Day on March 3, 1938, six faculty members were awarded certificates for 25 years or more of distinguished service to the institution. In 1970, the Quarter Century Club was officially organized to honor 18 faculty and staff members who had completed 25 years of service.
This year’s inductees include:
Marie Artis, assistant professor and program coordinator, Social Work
Edith Gaillard, fiscal technician, Accounts Payable
Gil Harris, instructor, English and Modern languages
Carrie James, assistant professor, Nursing
Sam N. McDonald, assistant professor, Mathematics
Mary J. McInnis, senior extension director, 1890 Research and Extension
John A. Middleton, accountant/fiscal analyst, Grants and Contracts
Thelma Moorer, administrative specialist, Educational Technology Services
Mr. Lamerial R. Ridges, instructor, Visual and Performing Arts
Dr. Haile M. Selassie, professor, Accounting, Agribusiness and Economics
Dr. John B. Williams, professor, Biological Sciences
