The Student Services office provides a collection of services designed to enhance the quality of life for graduate and undergraduate students at South Carolina State University who are interested in transportation-related careers. Leadership and counseling for student programs are provided in transportation. Information, advice and consultation to students who are seeking internship information, employment opportunities, both on and off campus are provided by the Student Services office. Scholarships, internships, recruitment, coops, assistance with application process and GRE application, fellowships, and assistantship are offered to students who are seeking a Master of Science Degree in Transportation and related areas. JECUTC Student of the Year Award
The Outstanding Student of the Year Award is a program sponsored by the United States Department of Transportation and administered by its Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) to reward high school, undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate exceptional potential for a career in the transportation field. Each award recipient is invited to Washington, DC and is presented with a certificate from federal officials representing the USDOT and a stipend in the amount of $1,000 from the sponsoring University Transportation Center.
Fellowship Programs
James E. Clyburn Transportation Fellowship
James E. Clyburn Transportation Center awarded two (2) James E. Clyburn Graduate Fellowships during the 2003-2004 academic year. These fellowships are awarded to qualified full-time graduate students pursuing the Master of Science Degree in Transportation at the University. The award is based on academic excellence, an earned cumulative grade-point average of 3.5, a 500 word or less essay, and two (2) letters of recommendations.
Leroy Davis Transportation Fellowship
James E. Clyburn Transportation Center awarded two (2) Leroy Davis Transportation Fellowships during the 2003-2004 academic year. These fellowships are awarded to qualified full-time graduate students pursuing the Master of Science Degree in Transportation at the University. The award is based on academic excellence, an earned cumulative grade-point average of 2.85, a personal statement, and two (2) letters of recommendations.
