    The National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) originated at SC State in 1993 as a pilot project through the cooperative efforts of SC State, the S.C. Department of Transportation and the FHWA South Carolina Division Office. In 1999, the NSTI became the first transportation education program for secondary school students to be authorized by Congress in the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century.

    The Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Scholarships preserve as its primary mission: the identification, recruitment, acceptance and matriculation of a distinct student population. We are committed to the enrollment of traditional and non-traditional aged students, minority students (Germane to SC State University), international, and academically-talented students and to provide educational opportunities in a caring and nurturing learning environment.
