Brooks Health & Wellness Center
A member of the American College Health Association (ACHA), Brooks Health Center, within in the Division of Student Affairs, mission is to contribute to the holistic educational experience of students at SC State by ensuring they have access to quality affordable episodic and preventive health care, promotion of preventive care, healthy lifestyle behavior and wellness.
The Health Center consists of three areas:
- Medical And Nursing Services,
- Health Education and Wellness Center, and
- Peer Education.
Brooks Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm during the fall and spring semesters. Hours of operation may vary during the summer school sessions and during scheduled semester breaks.
Brooks Health Center is located on the campus of South Carolina State University in the building next to Bradham and Manning Halls (Female Dormitories).

Appointments
Appointments are encouraged for non-urgent health needs and to avoid prolong waiting and missing classes. However, walk-ins are seen for unexpected health concerns. To schedule an appointment call 536-7053.
After Hours/ Emergencies
For urgent conditions occurring after regular office hours, treatment may be sought at the Family Health Centers, Inc., Urgent Care (803) 531-8960 until 8pm. Life threatening emergencies will be referred to the Regional Medical Center(+RMC) (803) 395-2200. For emergency situations contact the Emergency Medical System (EMS) @ 911 and contact the Campus Police Department @ (803) 516-4111 or (803) 536-7188 for assistance. Students will be the responsibly of the student for the fees payments for emergency services rendered by community providers.
