The Social Work Curriculum is sequential, therefore, courses must be taken as outlined in the Curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), which consists of 121 credit hours. Students must also successfully complete the English Proficiency Examination and the Senior Social Work Examination.
Students can also attend courses via distance education at SC State University’s Greenville Center in Greenville, S.C.
Field Practicum
Students are required to complete a two-semester supervised field experience in their senior year. Students must also enroll in the concurrent Field Seminar courses for both semesters. Their experiences includes: Intake and Referral, Assessment, Interviewing, Service and Program Planning, Documentation, Advocacy, Research, Networking and Crisis Intervention.
