The Visual Arts Program is located in the impressive Fine Arts Building on the campus of South Carolina State University. The Visual Arts studios are concentrated on the first and second floors in addition to the FAB gallery, an exhibition space used for both professional and student exhibitions, and the Barbara A. Vaughan Recital Hall, a spacious auditorium designed for recitals, lectures and performances. The Visual Arts studios include:
Digital Media LabIMac work stations with the current Creative Cloud suite, access to scanners, large format and desktop printers, digital cameras and video cameras. All workstations and printers are professionally color calibrated.
Painting/Drawing StudioEasels, drawing tables, cutting tables, matting and framing equipment
Ceramics/Sculpture StudioTwo electric kilns, three gas kilns including raku, reduction, salt/soda, pug mill, glaze lab, electric wheels, Lockerbie kick wheel, wood shop, Jet table saw, band saw, belt sander, drill press, welding stations
The Printmaking studio contains a relief press, lithography press, lithography stones, silkscreen equipment and an acid room. The photography area has, a dark room for loading film, a dark room equipped with enlargers and analog cameras.
