Student organizations are an important part of the community at SCSU and supported by both faculty and students. The Visual Poets Student Art Organization, in its seventh year at SCSU, holds an annual campus Art Sale to fund field trips and arts events as well as and participates in community service activities across campus and in the Orangeburg community. In addition to the Visual Poets, Visual Arts Program students and faculty are in the process of bringing an SCSU chapter of the Kappa Pi International Art Fraternity to campus.
