5 Easy Ways to Register

THE OPDT POLICIES

Course Enrollment Requirements

Employees are required to have the approval of their supervisors when registering for classes or workshops that are held during their regular work hours.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a course for which you have registered, you must cancel no later than two (2) working days before the class begins.

In order to cancel either call the Professional Development and Training (PDT) Office at 536-7104 or e-mail the Office at training@scsu.edu. Failure to cancel your attendance may result in your department being charged a “no show fee.”

No Shows

Not notifying the PDT Office that you cannot attend a course, for which you are registered, may prevent another employee from having the opportunity to attend and/or result in unnecessary costs for the University. Therefore, a fee may be charged to your department if you do not notify the Office (see above Cancellation Policy) that you are unable to attend.

Substitutions

For some courses, supervisors may be allowed to substitute another employee for one who is unable to attend. Please contact the PDT Office, at least one (1) working day in advance of the course, if you wish to make a substitution.

Late Arrivals and Early Departures

Please notify the PDT Office no later than one (1) working day before the beginning of a course if you will be arriving late or leaving early. When calling (536-7104) or e-mailing (training @scsu.edu) the Office please provide your name, the course you are scheduled to attend and the approximate time you expect to arrive or leave the class. Arriving late or leaving a class early may result in you being ineligible to receive CEU credits or a certificate for the course. A minimum attendance of 90% is required to receive credit.
