SC State to Host Winter Open House 2008

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Prospective students will have an opportunity to see all that SC State has to offer during its Winter Open House 2008, Saturday Feb. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium

Prospective students and their parents will be introduced to educational offerings and opportunities at SC State, meet university officials, staff, departmental representatives and experience ‘Bulldog Pride’ first hand. Registration is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The day’s activities, which will begin at 9 a.m., include a welcome and informational program hosted by SC State’s interim president, Dr. Leonard A. McIntyre, Bulldog greetings, University highlights, financial aid options and admissions/scholarship requirements. The formal program will be followed by workshops on admissions, financial aid, student life, student health and wellness and Army ROTC. Tours of the SC State’s historic campus are among the activities planned for the day. There will also be an opportunity to dine in the state-of-the-art dining facility, J. W. Washington Dining Hall.

Students who have not been accepted to the University are encouraged to bring an official or unofficial high school transcript, national examination scores (ACT or SAT) and current courses with them and SC State’s Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Scholarships will process documents for admission to the University during the visit.

The event is open to high school juniors and seniors, and is a great way for students, parents, relatives and friends to visit the campus and experience the excitement of ‘Bulldog Country’ while participating in the various activities.

SC State is the only University in South Carolina that affords students an opportunity to receive a bachelor, masters, specialist and a doctorate degree. SC State is a leader in excellence and provides a wholesome living and learning environment, and promotes cultural diversity through its faculty, staff and students!
