SC State’s Fine Arts Gallery director, Jim Arendt, and photography professor, Scotty Peek, are featured in an invitational alumni exhibit at the University of South Carolina’s (USC) McMaster Gallery.

The exhibition features works by 12 artists ranging from recent graduates to several who have been working professionally for many years. “I think it speaks well of the quality of SC State’s Art program that two of its members were selected for an alumni exhibit that spans three decades of USC graduates from all over the country,” says Peek.

Featured exhibitions by artists include: Jill Allen (Master of Fine Arts, 2005); Jim Arendt (Master of Fine Arts, 2004); Morgan Ford (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 2006); Jonathan Goley (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 2005); James Henderson (Master of Musical Arts, 2001); Tom Lockhart (Bachelor of Arts, 1991); Scotty Peek (Master of Fine Arts, 2000); Kevin Pena (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 2005); Billy Renkl (Master of Fine Arts, 1988); Adam Shiverdecker (Master of Fine Arts 2008); Lee Swallie (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 2008); and Mark Woodham (Bachelor of Arts, 1991).

The work in the exhibition represents a variety of disciplines including printmaking, painting, photography, drawing, new media, sculpture and film. The exhibition will be on display through Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, with a closing reception on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The reception is open to the public.
