SC State University is now offering hundreds of online courses through a partnership with Education to Go, the industry leader in online learning for adults.

Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with instructors, students will gain valuable knowledge at their convenience and have the flexibility to study at their own pace.

“A partnership with Education to Go will allow SC State to offer high quality online learning to working professionals,” said Dr. Arnold Murdock, director of SC State’s Office of Extended Studies and coordinator of the continuing education program. “Education to Go has a great reputation in the online learning market and we are happy to partner with them,” continued Murdock.

A variety of courses will be offered in areas such as computer applications, PC networking and security, basic computer literacy, web and computer programming, database management, computer graphics, multimedia design, internet applications, accounting, business management, legal services, sales and marketing and health care.

New sessions of each six-week online course start monthly, with two lessons released weekly (for a total of 12). Each high-quality course includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes, assignments and a discussion area. Dedicated instructors facilitate each course and interact with learners by answering questions, providing feedback and facilitating discussions. Courses will be accessible 24 hours a day from anywhere with an internet connection.

In addition to SC State’s new online initiatives, the Office of Extended Studies is preparing to develop a number of continuing education programs for local businesses and community members. The programs will assist with the instructional needs of various organizations throughout SC State’s service area.
