I.P. Stanback MuseumMemberships help support the programs and activities and make public access to the collections of The I.P. Stanback Museum & Planetarium a possibility. The Museum offers a series of exhibitions, colloquia, gallery discussions, film viewings and other programs throughout the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter months. Affordable memberships in various categories are available upon request, and all members receive free admission to Museum and Planetarium activities. Upper level categories of Membership may entitle select membership holders to special activities and programs held especially for them. The I. P. Stanback Museum & Planetarium is dedicated to advocating, articulating, and presenting unique intersections between the worlds of the visual or fine arts, crafts, and the various social and traditional sciences.

The I.P. Stanback Museum & Planetarium is an embodiment of South Carolina State University's commitment to community service, and is devoted to enhancing the academic community’s and the general public’s appreciation of the Arts and Sciences through unique programs within a singular facility. The Museum's activities include aesthetic appreciation, historical and didactic discourse, scientific and technological presentations, and the encouragement of developing meta-cognitive assurance, critical thinking, and creative skills for its diverse student and adult constituencies.
