SPRING 2017 FACULTY INSTITUTE

The Spring 2017 Faculty Institute will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, 8:30am – 3:00pm in Belcher Hall. The theme for the Institute is “Faculty Engagement in Student Success for Online Learners”. The program features a plenary session followed by various faculty development workshops. Dr. Melanie Clay, will deliver the keynote address.

Dr. Clay is responsible for leading the support, curriculum, enrollment and marketing staff and evaluating the University System of Georgia online General Education Curriculum program (USG eCore). Under her leadership, the online General Education Curriculum has achieved remarkable goals in student success and retention. In addition to her role as Dean of eCore, she is also the executive director for the University of West extended education and online programs. Dr. Clay hold a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Specialist in Educational Leadership, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of West Georgia, and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from The Ohio State University. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration and the founder of the annual Distance Learning Administration Conference.
