Evangeline R. “Angel” Pointer is a results-oriented project management and business operations leader with over a decade of experience spanning higher education, corporate strategy, supply chain, customer experience, and telecommunications. She brings a proven ability to transform organizations through process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
Currently serving as Director of Customer Service at South Carolina State University, Angel is spearheading the launch of the institution’s first centralized customer service department, establishing training standards, streamlining communication, and championing a culture of accountability that enhances the experience of students, alumni, faculty, and stakeholders. Previously, as Director of Alumni Affairs and Engagement, she revitalized SCSU’s alumni network through innovative campaigns and high-impact events, raising over $110,000 in scholarships and strengthening donor and alumni relations.
Her corporate experience includes key roles with Wells Fargo, Lowe’s Corporate, and Verizon Wireless, where she excelled in strategic planning, enterprise change management, supply chain operations, training, and customer engagement. Across these roles, she consistently delivered measurable results, from reducing process inefficiencies to driving double-digit performance improvements and mentoring future leaders.
She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and SAFe® 6 Scrum Master, recognized for her ability to lead complex initiatives from concept to execution.
Her leadership extends beyond her profession into alumni engagement and service. She is a board member of the Our HBCUs Matter Foundation, the 2023 Charlotte Chapter Alumnus of the Year, and has been repeatedly honored by the SCSU National Alumni Association for her outstanding contributions.
