SC State to host inaugural Business After Hours event Aug. 29
ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State University is opening its doors to alumni, business leaders and community partners for “Business After Hours,” a new networking event designed to connect Bulldog supporters and showcase the university’s impact.
The inaugural gathering is set for Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, from 6-10 p.m. at the I.P. Stanback Museum and Planetarium on the SC State campus.
The evening is expected to draw business and civic leaders, alumni and other stakeholders for conversation, fellowship and a closer look at the work of SC State faculty, staff and students. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, giveaways and opportunities to learn about the university’s academic and student success initiatives.
The event will highlight how community and philanthropic support fuel SC State’s continued growth.
“Business After Hours is a signature event designed to bring together business leaders, alumni, community partners, and other valued supporters for an evening of connection, engagement, and shared vision,” said Dr. E. Rocky Simmons, SC State’s director of corporate, foundation and community relations. “This gathering will showcase the impactful work of our faculty, staff, and students while strengthening relationships that are vital to the continued growth and advancement of South Carolina State University.”
