The introduction of The Power of SC State: A Capital Campaign to Elevate Excellence signifies a transformative opportunity for our university. This campaign is dedicated to enhancing the experiences of our students, faculty, and staff by providing vital resources that support academic excellence and innovation.

Through the initiatives identified within this campaign, we aim to improve our facilities, expand scholarship offerings, and enhance faculty support. These efforts will create an environment that fosters collaboration and growth, empowering our students to achievetheir dreams and equipping our faculty and staff with the tools they need to inspire the next generation of leaders. 
 

As a united community of supporters, we will ensure South Carolina State University will continue to shine as a beacon of opportunity and excellence among all institutions of higher education.

Long-time supporters and proud alumni of South Carolina State University, Coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough and Josie Pough have dedicated their lives to advancing the success of SC State students. Their commitment reflects a deep belief in the power of education and the transformative role athletics plays in shaping student leadership, discipline, and opportunity.

 

“When we were asked to serve as co-chairs for The Power of SC State, we did not hesitate to accept. The success of our Bulldogs on and off the field is rooted in the resources and opportunities we provide. This campaign will ensure that we continue to elevate the student experience for generations to come. From enhancing facilities to expanding scholarships and strengthening academicsupport, this effort is about making a lasting impact on our students and their futures. We are proud to help lead this transformative moment for SC State.”

 

Colonel (Ret.) Ned E. Felder, ’59 Honorary Co-Chair

A proud Geechee from Charleston, South Carolina, Colonel (Ret.) Ned E. Felder is a distinguished alumnus whose lifelong service reflects the highest ideals of leadership and responsibility. After earning both his Bachelor of Science degree and Juris Doctorate from South Carolina State University, he served with distinction in the United States Army, retiring as a Senior Judge on the United States Army Court of Criminal Appeals.

A steadfast champion of SC State, Colonel Felder has led alumni initiatives, chaired scholarship efforts, and helped secure transformational gifts for the University, including a record-setting class contribution and a significant bequest benefiting institutional advancement. His legacy of service and philanthropy embodies the Divine Class of 1959 creed: Our University – Our Responsibility.
