Endowed Professorships and Chairs ($2,000,000): Increasing the number of endowed professorships and chairs, which helps recruit and
retain today’s top faculty members.
This initiative is the first of its kind at SC State. With endowed professorships
and chairs, SC State can attract top scholars from various disciplines. Landing these
scholars has a significant impact. It enhances our program's reputation,strengthens
the university’s prestige, and makes us more appealing to other scholars.
Faculty/Staff Professional Development ($1,000,000): Expanding access to professional development opportunities to faculty/staff across campus in pursuit of continuous improvement.
Investing in professional development is a key step toward fostering a motivated and innovative faculty at SC State. By providing opportunities for faculty to attend conferences, conduct research, and engage in ongoing professional growth, we can inspire our staff to stay at the forefront of their fields. These efforts will energize our campus community, enhance academic excellence, and support SC State’s transition toward becoming a Carnegie Classified, R2-High Research institution with a stronger research focus, paving the way for expanded research funding, competitive grant opportunities, and greater national recognition.
