SC State’s next chapter of student leadership begins with Tucker and Miles

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Zaria Tucker and Anthony Miles Jr. are no strangers to leadership at South Carolina State University.

From campus organizations to university-wide initiatives, both have made their mark through service, innovation and a strong commitment to student success — and now, they’re set to lead the student body into a new academic year.

Tucker has been elected president of the Student Government Association for 2025–2026, while Miles will serve as president of the Campus Activities Board. Together, they will help shape student life and engagement at South Carolina’s only public historically Black college or university (HBCU).

Together, Tucker and Miles bring experience, energy and a shared vision to student leadership — committed to enhancing the SC State experience for all Bulldogs.

About Zaria Tucker

Tucker, a psychology major from Clinton, South Carolina, will also serve as the student representative on the SC State Board of Trustees. She is a three-time Presidential Scholar and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., where she previously served as first vice president and chair of membership intake for the Alpha Xi Chapter.

Her involvement also includes the National Council of Negro Women, the NAACP and service as a student orientation leader. Nationally, she has represented SC State at the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals Student Leadership Institute and is a member of the National HBCU Student Government Association Presidents’ Consortium.

About Anthony Miles Jr.

Miles, who hails from Lexington, South Carolina, is a dual-degree student majoring in agribusiness and business management with a concentration in management information systems. He holds a 3.72 GPA.

He is a member of the Dr. Emily England Clyburn Honors College, an 1890 AG Innovation Scholar and a consistent honoree on the President’s List and Dean’s List. He has applied his skills in innovation and event strategy through competitions such as the Coca-Cola Hackathon and the SC State PSA Google Hackathon.

Miles also serves as basileus of the Xi Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., which was recently named 6th District Undergraduate Chapter of the Year. He previously served as vice basileus. After graduation, he plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration and continue his work in business leadership and community development.
