SC State's graduate programs include master's degrees in education, business administration,
rehabilitation counseling, counselor education, speech-language pathology, nutritional
sciences and transportation, as well as specialist and doctoral degrees in education.
ORANGEBURG, S.C. — South Carolina State University will waive graduate application fees and GRE and
GMAT score requirements for prospective students seeking admission for the Spring
2027 semester.
The waivers take effect Oct. 15, 2026, as part of an initiative by SC State's Office
of Graduate Services to make graduate education more accessible and encourage qualified
students to pursue advanced degrees.
The initiative applies to prospective students seeking admission to the university's
master's, specialist and doctoral degree programs.
By eliminating these application requirements, SC State aims to provide greater opportunities
for students to advance their education, strengthen their professional qualifications
and prepare for new career opportunities.
Prospective graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of the waivers by beginning
the application process on or after Oct. 15.
SC State offers master’s degree programs in a variety of academic and professional
fields, including business administration, rehabilitation counseling, counselor education,
speech-language pathology, nutritional sciences and transportation. The university
also offers master’s degrees in various education disciplines, along with specialist
and doctoral degrees in education. Graduate certificate programs provide additional
opportunities for professional development and specialized training.
